How to install a Lightroom preset?

Adobe Lightroom comes in two versions, the desktop version, and the mobile version. We will show you the installation of both of them, just stay tuned. Recommend to check your Lightroom version. For computers please use Adobe Lightroom CC 7.3 or above version, while on mobile please use the latest version.

Inside the folder, there are two folders, XMP and DNG. Accordingly, the XMP folder is for the desktop version, while the DNG folder is for the mobile version.

Installation for Desktop

• Open Lightroom and make sure you are on the Develop bar.
• Go to the “Preset” panel, click the “+” icon, and “import preset…”, as in the image below.

• Then, select the “XMP” folder and select all the files, click “Import” to import the preset, as image below.

• So now, all the presets are already shown on the left panel, like in the image below.

• So now you can move the mouse to one of the presets, the image on the right panel will make the adjustment immediately.
• If you like preset adjustment, just click on the preset you pointing to, then it was done and ready to export.

Installation for Mobile

• Upload the DNG file to your phone (Recommend), Or, you can use your phone to download the file and unzip it on your phone.
• Then open Adobe Lightroom apps on your phone.
• Click on the “Add Image” button to select all from the DNG folder on your phone. As the image below

• Then, click the “Add” button.
• So now all presets are ready. Let’s apply it.
• Then select the preset you like and click on the image.

• So, click on the “Copy setting”

• Then select the photo you would like to use this preset.
• And click “Paste Setting” to the photo.

• Then, done and ready to share.
